Stephanie Scott is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Georgetown Center on Poverty & Inequality. Stephanie leads policy analysis and quantitative research projects on public benefits, guaranteed income, and poverty measurement.

Stephanie most recently served as Research Manager at Social Impact, where she led research for monitoring and evaluation projects on governance and natural resources in several countries. She served as a quantitative specialist, co-created a data mapping framework, conducted qualitative data collection, and managed stakeholder engagement. Previously, she researched economic mobility and racial and gender equity at UpTogether, where she used mixed methods research to assess the impact of guaranteed income programs, building evidence of the positive effects of direct cash transfers on families and individuals experiencing financial hardship.

Stephanie also served in a University of Michigan research lab, managed a youth civic engagement program in Nevada, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Indonesia.

Stephanie earned her MPP at the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, specializing in international policy. She also earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology and Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Stephanie is passionate about alleviating poverty, inspired by her family’s experience in the Philippines. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her dog, finding delicious food in D.C., and interior design.
