Coordinator, Economic Security & Opportunity Initiative

Christopher Brown was an Initiative Coordinator at the Georgetown Center on Poverty & Inequality’s Economic Security & Opportunity Initiative from 2017-2019. Chris Brown assisted with research and writing projects, communications, events, and project coordination.

Previously, Chris served as a Staff Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives for Rep. Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA), and as the Associate Director of Brazile & Associates LLC where he focused on providing a full range of strategic communications, public affairs, issue advocacy and grassroots political training to non-profit organizations, trade unions, academic institutions and small businesses. He also served as a Research Assistant at the University of Notre Dame’s Kellogg Institute for the Varieties of Democracy project on conceptualizing and measuring democracy. Chris founded a student advisory council for the local school corporation to hear from and cooperate with diverse groups of high school students in South Bend to address the various socio-economic and academic issues facing students in the city.

He was a Public Policy M.P.P. candidate at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame.
