SHAMAAL SHEPPARD

Shamaal Sheppard is a Senior Policy Analyst at Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality. Shamaal leads research projects and development on income supports, good jobs, and human services.

Previously, Shamaal served as a Policy Advisor for Congressman Jamaal Bowman on issues related to health, housing, and racial and economic justice. He also has experience supporting the policy needs of Community Health Centers in Washington, D.C. and nationally.

Shamaal earned his B.A. at the University of Pittsburgh. He studied Health Services and Latin American studies. He earned his MPH at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, specializing in health policy.

Shamaal is passionate about achieving health equity and reparative justice for marginalized communities. In his spare time, Shamaal enjoys being outdoors, trying new food around Washington D.C., and spending time with his family.
