CHRIS GEARY

Policy Analyst, Economic Security & Opportunity Initiative

Chris Geary was a Policy Analyst at the Georgetown Center on Poverty & Inequality’s Economic Security & Opportunity Initiative. He conducted quantitative and qualitative research and policy analysis on a wide range of issues relating to economic security and opportunity. His research topics included economic responses to COVID-19, social determinants of health, human service delivery, tax credits, and higher education.

Previously, Chris was a Policy Fellow in the Mayor’s Office of Youth and Families in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he analyzed the city’s public health needs. Earlier, Chris was a Regional Organizing Director at the Mike Johnston for Colorado campaign, and a Teach For America Corps Member. He taught 6th grade math in Pueblo, Colorado and 10th grade history in Denver, Colorado.

Chris earned his Master in Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School where he concentrated in Social & Urban Policy and received The Roy and Lila Ash Award for Student Leadership in Civic Engagement. He received his B.A. in Public Policy from Duke University.
